Shipping
All orders are dispatched from Sri Lanka by registered, tracked post within 3 working days of ordering. Typical delivery: UK & Europe 2–4 weeks; North America 2–5 weeks; Australia & Asia 2–4 weeks. An express courier option (approximately 1 week) is available on request. Your tracking number is emailed on dispatch. Delivery estimates are not guarantees — international post occasionally runs slower, and we ask for your patience before we investigate a parcel as delayed.
Customs
Every parcel carries an accurate customs declaration. Small personal orders usually arrive without charges, but customs rules vary by country and any import duty, VAT or handling fee levied by your country is the buyer's responsibility.
Damaged, lost or wrong items
If your order arrives damaged, doesn't arrive within the tracked timeframe, or isn't what you ordered, contact us with your order number (and a photo, if damaged) and we'll replace or refund it — no fuss.
Returns
Because spices are food, we can't accept returns of opened pouches for hygiene reasons. Unopened items can be returned within 30 days of delivery for a refund of the item price; return postage is the buyer's responsibility.
Questions people ask
- Where do the spices come from?
- From Sri Lanka — grown on our family's land and sourced from growers we know personally, then dried, weighed and packed by hand at our family home near Colombo.
- How do I pay?
- Tap "Order" on any spice and it opens a WhatsApp message to us. We confirm availability and postage, then send you a secure card payment link. Your card details go directly to the payment provider — we never see them.
- What's the difference between Ceylon cinnamon and normal cinnamon?
- Most "cinnamon" sold in Western shops is cassia, the bark of a different tree — darker, harder and harsher. True Ceylon cinnamon is lighter, layered like parchment, and tastes sweeter and more delicate. Read the full story here.
- How fresh are the spices?
- We pack to order from recent harvests rather than holding old stock — small-batch is the whole point. Every pouch carries a best-before date and batch number.
- Is the packaging resealable?
- Yes — food-grade, resealable stand-up pouches. Store them cool, dry and out of direct sunlight.
- Do you sell larger quantities?
- Yes — message us for bulk or wholesale pricing.
A note on honesty: we sell our spices for their flavour, freshness and origin. We don't make health claims about any of our products, and we'd encourage you to be sceptical of spice sellers who do.
